NRC has built one of Sri Lanka's largest integrated plastic recovery and recycling networks: collectors, MRFs, transport, recycling and manufacturing in a single traceable system, where every kilogram follows a documented journey from where it was recovered to the recycled material it becomes.
01 —The network
Recovery begins across Sri Lanka.
Plastic reaches NRC through a growing network of registered collectors, community collection points, Material Recovery Facilities, buy-back centres, institutions, and environmental recovery infrastructure.
Together, these create a reliable flow of recyclable material from every part of the country into NRC's recycling operations.

02 —Traceability
Traceability built into every transaction.
Many recyclers can tell you where material ended up. NRC can tell you where it started.
Every transaction within our recovery network is recorded through NRC's collector database. Rather than simply recording incoming volumes, the system captures the information needed to create a transparent recovery trail for every batch of plastic.
As material moves through the recycling process, this information remains connected to the recycled output, providing a level of transparency that supports corporate reporting, recovery verification, and future EPR requirements.
Each record also protects the people doing the work: a registered identity, a fair buying price, and a documented income for every collector.
This isn't simply a claim of traceability.
It's a system designed to prove it.

03 —The system
From collection to recycled material.
Every batch follows the same controlled recycling process, ensuring consistent quality while maintaining traceability throughout production.

Collect
Plastic is recovered through NRC's island-wide network of collectors, Material Recovery Facilities, collection infrastructure, community programs, and environmental recovery initiatives.

Sort
Incoming material is separated by polymer type, colour, and quality before contaminants are removed to maximise recycling performance.

Flake & Wash
Sorted material is shredded into flakes, then advanced washing removes labels, residues, dirt, and contamination, preparing clean flake for high-quality recycling.

Compound
Recovered polymers are filtered, blended, and compounded to improve consistency and performance for manufacturing applications.

Pellet
The finished material is pelletised, quality tested, and prepared for customers as reliable recycled raw material.
